Our Apartment

We have been in our apartment for a month now, and it's starting to feel more and more like our home! We love the location and everything we can walk to. We can walk to the farmer's market, the library, the plaza (which has a coffee shop, resturants, & Thursday night concerts), shops, and ice cream & shaved ice stands. It's really ideal for us this year!

No More Diapers!

That's right! AnnaKate is officially potty trained! She had been ready for awhile, but with all of the changes we have been going through I decided to wait. So, we started on the Monday before we went to Florida. It took her about three days to get the hang of everything, and now she is doing great! She had to wear a pull-up on our long car trip, and she kept it dry for the entire 10 hours. She even told me she had to go potty when we were on the beach. We are so proud of her, and she is proud of herself too! Now, if we can just ween her off of the M & M's... :)

My parents brought the girls up, and while they were here we just had to take them to the famous St. Louis arch! It was our first time to see it up close too. We went into the museum underneath it, but we didn't ride up into it during this visit. We will definitely do that soon! We just had a good time seeing it and enjoying the nice weather. I still can't believe that we live here!

The Magic House

There is a children's museum here in Kirkwood called the Magic House, and I have been looking forward to taking the girls there ever since we came up looking for a place to live back in April. My parents and I took them last week, and it was a lot of fun! Crowded, but fun! They had an exhibit of fairy tales, and the girls loved it. There was Beauty & the Beast, Cinderella, Jack & the Beanstalk, and a few others. Some of their favorite things we did was climbing the 3 story beanstalk, having our hair "raised" by touching a big ball, standing inside of a big bubble, & going down the 3 story slide. I am sure we will visit the Magic House many more times during our time here!

This was so cool! I am convinced Emma's hair would have really stood up if I had stayed longer. There was a long line, so I felt bad staying too long!

Missourians????

Well, we made it! It was a long, tiring trip, but we are finally in our new home in Kirkwood, MO! T.R. and I got up at 4:15 Friday morning, and I took him to work. I finished packing up the bathroom stuff and our bedding, went and got coffee, and the movers were there by 7:30. They worked all morning while I ran last minute errands. At 12:30, they were all done, and they headed on up to St. Louis. T.R. and I met and closed on our house at 1:00, and after a few more errands, were on the road by 2:30. We were almost out of Oklahoma when traffic came to a complete stop, and we were stopped for 2 and a half hours for a terrible wreck that killed 10 people. We never saw the wreck because the line of cars was 15 to 20 miles long on the interstate, and they closed it down. We had to get off and find our way back onto it through on-star and country roads. We just happened to wind around by the interstate at the "welcome to Missouri" sign! So, we took the opportunity to stretch our legs and take a picture. We finally checked into our hotel in St. Louis at 1:00 in the morning, and a 7 hour drive had turned into 11 hours, and we had both been up for 21 hours. We were exhausted but so glad to be here safe and sound! We have been unpacking, getting settled in, and catching up on much needed rest. The girls are coming on Saturday, and we can't wait for them to see their new home. We hope they like it! Will post pics as soon as I have it just the way I want it!
