Beau Thomas is Here!

We welcomed our baby boy, Beau Thomas, on January 13. We were scheduled to induce tomorrow, January 24, but we had to do it early due to me having high blood pressure. It was a surprise, but it was a fun surprise!

Beau was born at 2:42 pm, and he weighed 6 lbs 12 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. He was doing well and was in our room for about 4 hours. I noticed him making little noises with each breath, but it didn't sound alarming. I thought they were just baby noises. After the grandparents left with the girls, the nurse came in to check on us. She listened to his lungs and saw that he was trying a little too hard to breath. She and T.R. took him to the nursery where a NICU nurse came to take a look. They called the pediatrician who could hear his little noises in the background, and he told them to take Beau to the NICU. Of course, I was a mess when I heard this. I could only think of the worst. T.R. and I went down to the NICU with him and watched as they hooked him up to monitors and started his I.V.. It was so hard to see him in the isolet hooked up with all of those things. The neonatologist came in and ordered a chest x-ray. After reading it, he told us that Beau had fluid in his lungs that hadn't been coughed or squeezed out during or after birth and that he would be okay. It would just take some time for them to clear, and until then they wanted to monitor him. He was definitely the healthiest baby in the NICU, and we were so thankful that he would be okay. His stay was only 3 nights.

We are loving having Beau home! The girls can't get enough of holding him and kissing his little head. It is so much fun to see how they adore him. T.R. and I are loving having a baby again and trying to soak up every little noise, stretch, & expression he makes. We are so blessed and thank the Lord that he was watching over us and little Beau. We can't wait to see what is in store for our family of 5!

Christmas with Nana and Doc

The fun part about staying in Oklahoma for Christmas is that we get to celebrate two times! Once with Marmee, Poppa, & Aunt Kellie and once with Nana and Doc. My parents came after Christmas, and we had a fun time. We went out to eat, went to the movies to see Tangled, took the girls to the tea room, and my mom and I got to go furniture shopping together. The girls love having their grandparents here, and so do I! It was a wonderful Christmas.

The fam after eating at Flat Tire (our favorite hamburger and fried pickles place) and before opening presents.

This may look like just a box of oreos (one of T.R.'s favorite night time snacks), but it had another surprise taped to the back. One that always fits perfectly! :)

Excited about a new webkinz...

Nana with her Old World Christmas ornament we gave her.

AnnaKate with her Sing-a-ma-jig...it has "accidently" gotten lost a couple of times!

Loved getting things for our baby boy!
