Christmas Day

I keep thinking each year that the girls are going to get up before daybreak to see what Santa has brought them. I woke up every hour on Christmas Eve thinking they were sneaking in to get a peek! I was too excited to sleep myself...I look so forward to seeing their little faces when they get what they have asked for. I also couldn't wait to see Marmees's face when she opened the present we had gotten her...I love giving gifts! Anyway, I was up early and watching the hallway to make sure there were no little girls coming in until we were ready! I put the finishing touches on the breakfast casserole and made the coffee thinking surely that would wake the girls up. Nope! 7 o'clock rolled around, 7:30 came, everyone was up except the girls! Finally at 8 o'clock AnnaKate woke up, and we had to wake Emma up! Hey, I will take it. I would rather wake them up than have them waking us up at 5 am!

Our first year to do a clue present for the girls. T.R.'s family always had a clue present, and his parents still do one for all of us every year! It will usually be the last present, but it needed to be the first one this year because most of the presents under the tree went with it.

Christmas Eve

We had a wonderful Christmas! We were so blessed to have Aunt Kellie and T.R.'s parents in town. We enjoyed baking cookies, going to church and out to eat on Christmas Eve, looking at Christmas lights, and just spending lots of relaxing time together!

Snow Tubing

Snow tubing in Bricktown is something we have always wanted to do here in Oklahoma City, and we finally did it this year! Every year they have snow and a big tubing hill at the ball park in downtown. I couldn't do it, but I had so much fun watching the girls and our friends, the Nesselrodes', sliding down the hill. Afterwards, we walked over to Starbucks to have hot chocolate. It was a blast, and I am sure we make it a yearly tradition from here on!

Aggieland Visit

We went on a trip to Aggieland over fall break back in October. We haven't been to College Station in three years, so it was time! T.R. needed a Wing's-n-More fix. :) We stayed with our good friends, Bill and Sarah and had a great time! The highlight of the trip was getting to spend some time with Revielle. For those of you who don't know, she is the mascot for A&M. There wasn't a football game that weekend, but we filled our time with walking on campus, swimming at the Rec center, eating at all of our favorite places, driving by our old apartments, and spending time with our friends. Aunt Kellie even came in from Austin for an afternoon. The only bad part was that the camera battery went out as we were meeting with Rev before we got to walk around campus! So, those pics are on my phone. It was so disappointing! We have got to remember to check the battery! Despite that little mistake, we had an awesome time!


T.R. and the girls drove right up to Kyle field where a gate was open, so they just went right in!

She wasn't too interested at first, but she did eat eventually! Maybe she is used to more sophisticated treats rather than milkbones. :)

Scripture in the Walls

Our house is coming along! These pictures are actually from early October, so things have changed a lot since these were taken. The brick and stone is complete, the walls are sheet-rocked, the tile floors are laid, the showers are tiled, the wood floors are down, and the trim carpenters are working hard on all of the woodwork! So, these pics are dated! :) T.R. had the idea to write scriptures on notecards and nail them to the walls before they were sheet-rocked. The girls picked a couple of verses for their rooms, and T.R. found some for the rooms of the rest of the house. It is really neat to know that God's word is in the walls of our new home! We can't wait to move in...hopefully the end of February or beginning of March.

Daddy Daughter Date Night

The men's ministry at our church has a daddy/daughter date night every year. T.R. and Emma participated two years before we moved to St. Louis, but AnnaKate was too little. She is old enough this year, and both girls have been looking so forward to this night! I know T.R. has been looking forward to it too. :) This is the only kind of date the girls know, and I love that! I know they will be looking for a man just like their Daddy one day because he is showing them how a date should be. To get ready they took baths, I dried and fixed their hair, we painted nails, put on pretty dresses, and didn't forget the lipgloss! The girls chose to go to our Sunday night pizza place, Othello's, for dinner. After dinner, they go to the church for pictures, dessert, and some entertainment. I can't wait for them to get home to hear all about it!

Halloween

We had a fun Halloween this year! The girls are really into trick-or-treating, and T.R. and I love eating their chocolate. :) We got together with good friends for chili, and the guys took the kids around the neighborhood. Our friends live in the neighborhood that we are building in, so it was fun to get to trick-or-treat where we are going to live soon!
