Twinkle Toes

I love that I get to go in and watch the girls' dance classes every month! They have observation day the first class of the month. I remembered my camera this time. T.R. and I were looking at the pictures and were amazed at how big they look, especially AnnaKate! They both love dance, and I am so glad. It is nice to have an activity to look forward to going to each week in this new place.

Trick or Treat

A friend of mine wrote on her blog that they were Halloweened out, and I couldn't agree more! I think Emma wore her costume 5 times last week...no joke! The girls ended the week carving a tiger jack-0-lantern with Daddy and trick or treating for lots of candy. It was actually the first time we have ever gone trick or treating!

The girls were proud of the tiger jack-o-lantern. They actually lost interest after scooping out the insides! T.R. enjoys doing this every year!

Ready to trick or treat for chocolate for Mommy!

It is a tradition in St. Louis for the kids to tell a joke before they can get a treat. Someone at the hospital told this to T.R., and I didn't think people would really do it. But, most people opened the door and asked the girls if they had a joke! Emma's was, "What makes a skeleton laugh? Tickle his funny bone." AnnaKate's was, "What does a ghost have for lunch? A booloney sandwich."

Halloween Walk

I love dressing the girls up for Halloween! My favorite thing is to coordinate them or match them. Two years ago they were black cats (with tutus), and last year they were little china dolls. I had a hard time thinking of something this year! After many hours of searching e-bay & etsy, I decided to just let it be easy. I took them to Target, and they picked what they wanted! So, we have a pink poodle and Snow White this year.

Kirkwood has a Halloween Walk (the Thurs. before Halloween) every year in downtown. The businesses stay open a little late and pass out candy to the kids. Everyone has told us that we just have to go! It has been so rainy this week, and I wasn't sure we were going to be able to make it. It rained from noon to 4 o'clock yesterday. Since it wasn't raining anymore, I decided to take the girls. I got them all dress-up, got my umbrella, and we walked on over. Not 5 minutes into our walk, it started to sprinkle. About 10 minutes later it was a good rain. Then, lightening and thunder and hard rain. By this time, we were a pretty good ways from the apt.. I called T.R. and got no answer...that means that he is still pretty busy! No rescue there. We kept walking and letting the stores give us candy. We did make it home, but we were "soaping wet" as AnnaKate would say! Everyone got a hot bath and yummy white chili to warm them up. We did have fun splashing our way home, and we can check the Kirkwood Halloween Walk off our our list!

My Pink Poodle and little Snow White. AnnaKate does have on her rainboots!

Ready to go trick or treating!

Will do tricks for treats!

Sweet sisters. It was nice that we could just walk over to downtown. Well, it might have been nicer if we had a car to jump in to come home!

Tootsie Roll! Nana's favorite. :)

This is almost the end of our journey. We stopped at the Kirkwood train station to call Daddy one more time. He was still dictating, so we figured we would rather just tough it out and walk the rest of the way. The things we will do for a little bit of candy!

Pumpkins!

Fall is here, and so are pumpkins! The leaves are turning colors, the temperature is getting cooler, and it is one of our favorite times of the year. Kirkwood Farmer's Market is literally around the corner and a two minute walk from our apartment. In October, it turns into a pumpkin patch with a lot of fun activities for the kids. They have little tractors with trailors for the kids to pedal around, a game of finding "the needle in the haystack", tire "horse" swings, a playground, and of course lots of pumpkins! We love just walking over there in the afternoons for something fun to do before supper. This town is the cutest place ever, and we are loving living here! Seriously, it's like a movie set. Happy Fall Ya'll!

OKC Friends Visit

Some friends from our church in Edmond came up to St. Louis last weekend on business, and we were able to spend some time with them! T.R. and I found a babysitter and got to have a night out with Lance & Laura. It was SO nice go out to a nice dinner and to be with sweet friends! We also had the chance to go to a Cardinal's game with them, and the girls came too. They love going to the baseball game...I think it's for the snacks. ;) Hotdogs for lunch and popcorn for a snack later! It was pretty chilly, so I enjoyed some hot chocolate too. It was refreshing to be with friends from OKC, and we are so glad they came to visit!

They were handing out baseballs to everyone as we came in. Emma wanted to send one home (to Edmond) to give to her friend, John Micheal. :)

AnnaKate enjoying her hotdog. MMMM!

Fallapalooza

Friday night was Fallapalooza at Emma's school, and it was a great way to welcome the fall! The weather was cool and there were lots of fun things to do. Emma really enjoyed getting to run around and play with her friends, and it was fun for T.R. and I to see her having a good time! There were a lot of games to play, and the girls couldn't wait to do the cake walk. They didn't win, and AnnaKate was very disappointed...she was crying! A sweet little boy let her play again with him the next go round. When the music stopped, she happned to be on a square with 6 other kids. It happened to be the number they called! All of the kids were so excited (including AnnaKate) and ran up to the table to claim their prizes. The adult couldn't figure out how all of these kids had won, and T.R. told them they had all gotten on one square instead of spreading out. He tried to get AnnaKate away, but she was crying again for a cake because she won! The nice lady working the table let her pick one out, and she picked a peach pie from a bakery here in town. Mommy and Daddy have really enjoyed it! :) The entire night was a lot of fun, and it was a great way to kick off the fall!

The Butterfly House

Nana and Doc came up for a visit last weekend, and we had a lot of fun! We have been wanting to check out the Butterfly House because Emma loves her book, Fancy Nancy Bonjour Butterfly. It was a great time to go, so we went on Saturday. We watched a 17-minute film on butterflies and learned all about them. Then, we headed into the butterfly house. It was everything I thought it would be. There were beautiful plants, flowers, and waterfalls, and butterflies were flying around everywhere! AnnaKate had on a purple bow, and two beautiful blue butterflies flocked to it. Mom and I were excited to see them, and I wanted to get a picture. But, AnnaKate started swatting at them. You are not supposed to touch the butterflies! AnnaKate is my girlie-girl, and she is not too much of a bug person. So, she didn't last too long in there! Emma on the other hand LOVED it. Mom and Dad enjoyed it too, and we were so glad to experience it with them!
