Blizzard 2011 Part 2: T.R. to the Rescue!
If you know T.R., then you know that he is in LOVE with his car and gets a thrill out of living dangerously. If there is an open field or a mudhole, he is going to drive through it. He has been stuck too many times to count, but he still does it. Like my Dad, he has to get out and drive in the snow and ice to check things out. He was gone a long time last night, and when I called him he was in the middle of a rescue. He pulled a couple's car out of a snow drift they had gotten stuck in. Their car overheated while he was pulling them out, so he took them home. On his way home he rescued another poor soul who had gotten stuck. He came home all excited about his adventures. :) This morning he and Kellie ventured out to the neighborhood where we are building our house and got stuck themselves. Thank goodness Marmee had bought a snow shovel! They were able to rescue themselves and someone else on their way home.

Blizzard of 2011 Part 1: Playing in the Snow
We have been anticipating it for a week. The weathermen have been super hyped up about it. The whole town has been abuzz and the grocery stores busting at the seams. I was going to be really upset if we ended up with just a dusting of snow after all of that! They were right, and we ended up with about 10 inches of the white stuff. We even made the Today Show with our blizzard-like conditions! We are living in a winter wonderland for a few days, and it is beautiful. I am glad we don't live somewhere there is snow all winter though...having to bundle up and then clean up all of the snow clothes is too much for me! We are going to enjoy the snow while it lasts because we will probably have a tornado warning next week!

The girls ready to go out to play.

Standing behind the snow drift on our back patio.

Making snow angels.

T.R. and Kellie braving the cold. Aunt Kellie picked a good time to come and visit!

The snow had drifted especially deep on this side of the house...about 3 1/2 feet.

It's up to T.R.'s knees. He did get stuck and had to lay back and roll out!

T.R. and AnnaKate ready to come in.

Hot chocolate warmed everyone up!
