The Elf on the Shelf

We recieved a very special package from the North Pole this year. In it we found an elf, and a book called "The Elf on the Shelf". They were from Santa himself, and the book told us all about our new friend. We had to name him, and the girls decided on the name Christmas. Christmas was Santa's eyes and hears, and every night when the girls went to bed he went back to the North Pole to give Santa a report. The next morning he would be somewhere different, and the first thing the girls did every morning was look for the elf! You can't touch him, but you can tell him your Christmas wishes. Santa took Christmas back to the North Pole when he stopped at our house on Christmas Eve, but he will reappear next December 1st! AnnaKate still asks, "where shelf go?" every morning. It was a fun activity for us, and I know it will be a tradition the kids will remember.

I love this idea!!! I saw your post about it on Facebook, and I asked for one for Christmas. Now we have one, too! :-) We'll be starting this great new tradition next year!

That's fun! My mom sent us one, but it got here kind of late so I'm saving it until next year.
