It all started 15 years ago...when T.R. asked me to go to his school's winter dance (the night before!). I didn't care about the short notice; I was just excited he asked me to go! I was on cloud nine when I went to bed that night. I woke up to the phone ringing the next morning, and it was T.R. with bad news. He had called his school's vice principal (at home) to see if he could bring me to the dance. You had to sign up people from other schools ahead of time. It was too late, and she wouldn't make any acceptions (even though she knew my mom and me personally!). I was disappointed...not because we couldn't go to the dance but because our date was canceled. Then, he told me the good news! He still wanted to go out that night. So, we went out to eat with our friends, and while they went to the dance we went to his house to watch a movie. We watched Rudy and had popcorn and rasberry gingerale. We met up with our friends after the dance to hang out again. I still remember how I felt when we walked up the driveway to their house and he put his hand on my back. :) To celebrate 15 years since our first date, we went to see the musical Grease at the Fox theater in St. Louis. It was a wonderful evening, and I still get that same feeling and look as forward to dates with my wonderful husband as I did 15 years ago.
