Emma's Big Birthday Present

Emma got out of school for spring break, and AnnaKate still had one day left. I thought it would be fun to spend the day with Emma and do something fun for her birthday that was coming up. I was trying to think of something for us to do, and I had a great idea...we could get her ears pierced! I went to T.R. to make sure it was okay with him, and he said yes...as long as I told her that it would hurt. We took AnnaKate to school and headed to the mall. As we walked in, I asked her if she was feeling brave. She looked at me and said, "feeling brave for what?". When I told her, a smile came across her face and she was so excited!

We had lunch at Nordstroms afterwards...it was REALLY good!

Her new accessories!

Waiting...she doesn't even look nervous!

Okay, so you have to wait 60 days to change your earrings. During that time you have to clean your ears with solution 2-3 times a day. Emma was very good about reminding me about this! We hit the 60 day mark just the other day. I came in that morning and asked her if she wanted to change her earrings, and she couldn't wait! We put in really cute pink pearls that matched her outfit for school. T.R. and I went out for dinner that night, and the girls had a babysitter. When we got home I noticed that the pink pearl earrings were on the counter in the bathroom. I wondered why in the world they took them out but just thought we would stick them in in the morning. Well, they wouldn't go in. We tried and tried...T.R. even got numbing cream from the hospital. It didn't work! So, Emma is earringless right now, but we aren't against letting her do it again soon. I think she has learned her lesson on not taking them out! Poor thing.
