911 & Firetrucks

Emma wasn't the only one who had a "first" today! AnnaKate and I had to call 911 for the first time! We were about to go to the gym, and I noticed that it looked a little hazy in the apartment. I started looking around and making sure I had turned things off and trying to see where the smoke was coming from. I couldn't find anything, but it was getting worse. The smoke alarm started going off, and I called 911! I got AnnaKate outside and in the car, and we waited. Well, come to find out, the city was doing some sort of smoke testing with the sewers and it can cause smoke to come through drains in houses or apartments. The firemen opened our hot water heater closet and smoke poured out of it. They set up a big fan to get the smoke out, and all was good. The apartment people reminded me that we got a notice about this THREE WEEKS AGO. Heck, I don't remember! Who doesn't call 911 when there is smoke filling up the rooms and the smoke alarm going off??? Oh well, it made for an exciting morning for AnnaKate and me. :)


The firetruck right outside. I had figured out what it was as I heard the sirens from far away and wanted to hide! The firemen said I did the right thing though!
